Cheap Broadband with Landline

MTNL is offering one of the Cheapest (Low cost) broadband plans with a landline at Rs.398/- per month in Delhi with 25 Gb Fair Usage Limit at 2Mbps (up to 8Mbps), Unlimited Local calls to any network. This is way better than MTNL's normal lowest 699 plan and Airtel's 899 plan. This offer is available permanently now.

Airtel has a low cost broadband Rs.599/- Retention plan which allows 50 Gb of data at 8Mbps after which speed drops to 1Mbps. This also has unlimited calls to any network like in the 899 plan. Call Airtel Customer care to switch to this plan to save on your monthly bill. It is NOT mentioned on their website nor do they advertise this.


 

Do's

  • Organize community celebrations for fire works in open spaces / areas.
  • Ensure that children are supervised by an adult member at all times.
  • Use long candles or 'phooljharis' to light firecrackers. Keep your elbow straight to increase the distance between the body and the crackers..
  • Wear thick cotton clothes that cover your arms and legs properly.
  • Remove old newspapers and other combustible items from rooftops.
  • Keep windows and doors closed.
  • Be alert for fire hazards.
  • Keep two buckets of water handy. In the event of fire, extinguish flame by pouring buckets of water. Every major fire is small to begin with.

Dont's

  • Never light firecrackers or 'Anar' by holding it in your hand.
  • Don't ignite fireworks in narrow spaces / bylanes. Preferably, use open areas and parks.
  • Never light firecrackers inside containers like glass bottles and metal cans, as the splinters can cause injury.
  • Don't fiddle with misfired firecrackers.
  • Never throw firecrackers at people, animals or passing vehicles.
  • Don't wear synthetic clothes, as these are flammable.
  • Don't wear loosely hanging clothes. Secure all clothes properly.
  • Don't let children play with firecrackers by themselves - keep a strict watch on their activities.
  • Do not store fire crackers near burning candles and Diyas.
  • Do not apply any cream, ointment or oil on burnt area.
  • Do not drive recklessly when taking a burn victim to the hospital. A delay of half or one hour is immaterial.

First Aid Kit for Burn Injuries

  • Pour large amount of cold water over burnt area. Do not apply any cream, ointment or oil.
  • Do not panic.
  • Consult a Doctor.
  • The patient should be taken to a burns specialist or a major hospital.
  • In case of eye burns wash the eyes with copious amount of tap water for 10 minutes and take the victim to a hospital.
  • In case of major burns, after extinguishing the fire, remove all smoldering clothes and wrap the victim in a clean bed sheet.
