Cheap Broadband with Landline

MTNL is offering one of the Cheapest (Low cost) broadband plans with a Landline at Rs.333/- per month in Delhi with 100 Gb Fair Usage Limit at 2Mbps (up to 8Mbps), Unlimited 100 Local calls to any network + used Wifi Router. This is way better than MTNL's normal lowest 699 plan and Airtel's 899 plan. This offer is available ONLY for existing landline customers who don't have broadband. You can apply for a new connection with "OneIndia" plan and move to this.

Airtel finally launched a low cost broadband Rs.499/- plan on 7th Sept 2020 which allows Unlimited (truly unlimited) data at 40 Mbps and a Landline with Unlimited calls on any network + Wifi Router. Call Airtel Customer care for a new connection or to switch to this plan from your current 799/899/1499 plans to save on your monthly bill.


To take backup of your complete website

There are three types of websites:

  • Plain HTML / CSS / Javascript based
  • HTML / PHP / Javascript and using some database like MySQL, SQL Lite etc
  • Content Management System (CMS) based which store the web pages in a database. E.g. Joomla, Wordpress, Drupal etc.

You can use different methods do backup each type of website. For CMS based website usually there are some extensions or built-in tools available to take backup.

To take file backup of your website if it does not use a database

  • Go to website's Control Panel (typically using, then click on File Manager in Files section.
  • If you are prompted for which directory to go to then choose
  • Click on left icon of directory "public_html" and go inside this directory. This is your complete website directory.
  • Click "Select All" from small menu below the main menu. This will select all files / directories and colour them blue.
  • Click on Compress. Choose "Zip" format (or any other format you like) for archive. Give a file name like yourdomain<ddmmyyyy>.zip. Close this screen after the zip process is over.
  • Click on the file created above and click "Download" to download the file.

To take a backup of your MySQL database, in case your website uses a MySQL database

  • Go to website's Control Panel (typically using, then click on phpMyAdmin in Database section.
  • Click on the database you want to backup and choose Export.
  • You can choose the default Export Method: Quick and Format: SQL. This will download a file with the name of your database with the extension sql, viz. <database>.sql. Save the file to your disk which will be the backup of all your full database, i.e. all database tables.

To take a backup of your Joomla website which uses Akeeba Backup component.

Akeeba takes a complete backup of your website and database which contains major part of the website.

  • Go to website's Joomla Administrator panel (typically using, then choose on Components->Akeeba Backup from the menu.
  • You will see Akeeba Backup control panel. Click on "Backup Now" in Basic Operations section. This will prompt you to "Start a new backup". Click "Backup Now!" which will start the backup. It will take a few minutes depending on the size of the website. Let it complete. DO NOT move out of the page till backup is complete. At the end it will give a message "Backup Completed Successfully".
  • Go to "Manage Backups". You will see the backup which you just took at the top. Click on the Download link in rightmost column to download it to your PC / laptop.

To restore a backup of your Joomla website which uses Akeeba Backup component and KickStart

  • Download Akeeba Kickstart from the Akeeba website.
  • Unzip this file into your website directory on local PC / laptop. For Wampserver this would be D:\Wamp\www\<your domain's short name>, e.g. D:\Wamp\www\indisha. Assuming you installed Wampserver in D: directory.
  • Primarily three files from Kickstart are required, they are kickstart.php, jquery.min.js, json2.min.js unless you are using language other than English.
  • Copy the Akeeba Backup you downloaded using above method into this directory together with Akeeba Kickstart files.
  • Before you can start the restore you will need a blank database on your localhost to restore the website to. Start phpMyAdmin on you local web server, e.g. in Wampserver by going to http://localhost/phpMyAdmin. Create a blank database using "New" option, e.g. indishadb. Choose the Collation: utf8_general_ci. Also create a user and password which has access to this database using the "Users" option from menu.
  • In your browser run the kickstart.php, e.g. http://localhost/indisha/kickstart.php.
  • It will show you all the backups present in your directory. Choose the one you want to restore and click "Start". This will start restoring all files from the backup.
  • In the second step it will ask to "Run the Installer". It will for ask server name, database name, user and password to access the blank database you created for the website. Sample values are given below:
    Database type:
    Database server host name: localhost
    User name: myuser
    Password: mypassword
    Database name: indishadb

  • After database is restored. Rename "installation" directory to "installationOrg" in the website directory, e.g. D:\Wamp\www\indisha\installation to installationOrg. Alternatively you can remove (delete) it.
  • Your website should work on the localhost now, e.g. http://localhost/indisha should show you complete website. To access Joomla Administrator page use http://localhost/<your domain short name>/administrator.
