Every day quite a few Air India passengers miss their flights from Mumbai because they are not aware that TERMINAL 2 at Mumbai indicates International Airport at Mumbai. In case your ticket says "Chatrapati Shivaji Terminal 2" for Departure or Arrival that indicates Mumbai International Airport. Please DO NOT go to Mumbai Domestic Airport. The two airports are far apart and it takes at least 30-40 minutes to go from the Domestic Airport to the International Airport. Please check the correct Departure Terminal on your ticket well in advance to avoid last minute issues.

Despite this consistent issue Air India has not done anything to mitigate the problem. They in fact aggravate the problem by forfeiting a large amount from the ticket price for the "No Show". They do not refund anything except the Tax.

Beware of the Racket at the CST Terminal 1A (Domestic Airport)

Passengers be aware their is a racket operating at the Domestic Airport at Santa Cruz Terminal 1A. Auto Rickshaw's would offer to take you to Sahar International Airport Terminal 2 and would suggest you take a taxi so that you don't miss the flight. They will say that the taxi will reach early as it will take a short cut to the International Airport (some internal road). Their is NO such short cut. They will take you to taxi stand opposite the airport across the Western Express Highway in Vile Parle. The taxis there would charge you anywhere between Rs. 400 to Rs. 1000 to go to Terminal 2. Passengers in the fear of missing the flight shell out these huge sums just to travel less than 10km. Please do not get conned by them.
